AVI

From the first, gutsy takeoffs to the beginning of commercial aviation; Breitling’s history is unmistakably connected with aviation. In the 1930’s, Breitling’s department Huit Aviation made its name creating precision cockpit clocks and dedicated wrist chronographs for pilots to use in the cockpit. Two decades later, the department introduced a new aviation instrument, this time one that could be worn on the wrist; the Ref. 765 AVI. A pilot’s chronograph with a rotating 12-hour bezel for recording flight times. In 2021, this watch was the technical base and inspiration for the modern Super AVI collection.

A collection of 46 mm timepieces that, in their colorways and designs, honor four of history’s greatest aircraft: the North American Aviation P-51 Mustang, the Vought F4U Corsair, the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, and the de Havilland Mosquito.
